Over 5 years ago, Gaïd Ombre 
(1980) switched from fashion 
to art. Female figures are central 
in her work. Both in her paintings 
and in her bronze sculptures. 
Her work is impressionistic, 
it is about the feeling and the 
movement. In 2019 she 
participated in Sterren op het 
Doek, where she portrayed 
Floortje Dessing. The work has 
a very pronounced and 
recognizable handwriting. Her 
work can be found in art 
collections, public space and 
in her own gallery in Amsterdam: 
Art Gallery Salon West.
